Critical masterpiece

The appetizer was decent but the other 2 dishes were pretty disappointing... Nothing stands out. The server tossed the menus in the middle of the table as we sat down. He wasn't happy and reluctant when we asked to change the table from what he offered first. It was too sunny by the window and it was a hot day. There were only 2 tables occupied at the time. Really?

Short rib yellow curry is an absolute delight (I had it on a previous visit before reviews could be posted on this restaurant). They can definitely make the dishes insanely spicy if desired. Possibly the best Thai food in Charlottesville!

We dined in at Pineapple Thai early one Friday evening. I ordered the Spicy eggplant and my husband ordered the Chicken Ka Soi. He requested it extra spicy and they did not disappoint. Both entrees were colorful and delicious! We will be back.

The first time we ate here was very good. Now, the quality of the taste had gone down to include the Thai ice tea, so I removed 2 stars. The soft shell papaya salad was very salty. The services are still excellent.

WONDERFUL THAI FOOD - LOVED IT 😊- Quick lunch in Charlottesville at PINEAPPLES THAI KITCHEN exceeded expectations! Bright airy modern space, clean interior and cool outside patio serving great Thai specialities. AMBIENCE- we enjoyed lunch here sitting outside, def a popular spot! Would I take a first date here? Probs not, but definitely a 3rd or 4th date!!! 😊 FOOD - best Thai food we have had outside of Manhattan, loved everything we ordered (see pics) SERVICE - waitress was great, very prompt service, timely food delivery. Bonus points for bringing iced water as soon as we sat down thank you 🙏🏻. WINE/BEER - well thought out drinks list with good choices for both beers and wines SUMMARY - Charlottesville has a burgeoning ethnic dining scene, but PINEAPPLES THAI is 100% worth a visit, some of our food was quite spicy, which we love, but check with the waitress prior!!!

I have tried many Thai restaurants and maybe I have my favorite way I like my foods seasoned but it just didn’t taste as good compared to my regular go to place. All in all, the food looked and tasted fine. I felt a little rushed but I can understand that it was closing time on a Sunday and the staff all wanted to go home. I still would be willing to try them again.

This place really surprised me. Coming to VA from the MA area , I did not expect much from the thai food. Boston doesn't have the best food scene say compared to NY or LA but this is a a solid choice for anyone looking for thai food in the Charlotesville area!

The food was not bad but I had better. The coconut shimp, you would be better buying the Margirra Village brand in the frozen section. The Thai wigs, I thought for Thai food, it would have more flavor and spicy but I guess it was made for Americans. The beer was very good. Cold, fresh and was like champagne beers bubbles. I had the midnight beef. The meat was a little tough but peppers and onions done fine. The atmosphere was clean and more of an industrial feel. Good for college and coworkers.
